The world economy has suffered, some places far worse than the UK, and you might expect that large purchases such as a new vehicle, may have been put to the back of consumers minds.
So if we are spending less, then if you did have to change your car then is a used car more attractive than a new car deal? You may be in for a shock!
New Cars or Used Cars?
Well speaking to industry insiders, there is a message that the new car market is far more buoyant than the used cars at the moment. This may not be as big a shock as your may think, as manufacturers concentrate on selling the products they supply, new cars! The used vehicles sales serve a purpose, but the manufacturers will make the deals on new cars as attractive as possible.
We understand that on many occasions consumers can find better deals on a fresh out the box car than on a 6 or even 12 month old version of the same model. Manufacturers discounts, ‘cashbacks’, deposit contributions and so on, make the offer to buy a newly registered model by far the best option.
Sales figures on freshly registered cars are showing parallels with last year, and the industry is seeing this steady level as a positive sign in difficult times.
Time for a new car bargain?
Well certainly there seems to be no let up in the array of deal on new cars. Some manufacturers are more aggressive than others on this than others, but there is little doubt that if you do fancy a new car, now is a good time to do it!
