Volkswagen and Porsche both confirmed that the Macan GTS will be produced in the next 12 months and may join the market towards the end of the 2015 sales year. A number of images online have been released which seem to show the new Macan GTS model during testing.

 

Volkswagen and Porsche have been enjoying a huge amount of success in the SUV car markets as the likes of the Macan and the Tiguan models have been racking up the sales. The sales figures achieved by the Porsche brand have actually confirmed the firms plans for future development as the firm look to make the switch from being a premium sports car manufacturer to a luxury mass market manufacturer.

 

The GTS look has been transferred from the Panamera and the Cayenne models and it is believed that a number of performance figures will also be transferred. If the new Macan GTS model is fitted with the 3.0 litre twin turbo engine then it will be capable of reaching the 0-62mph in just five seconds.

It is also believed that the new Porsche Macan model will be priced at somewhere in the region of £50,000.

 

Volkswagen have also recently confirmed that both the Seat and the Skoda brands will producing an SUV model capable of attacking the market. The VW Group have confirmed that they will be going for the top spot for new car sales in the world after finishing in third place last year.

 

This year both the Audi and the Porsche brands have been outselling the majority of major rivals with the Audi brand in particular contributing the most to the recent 4.3 per cent increase in new car sales. The Audi brand has confirmed that they have overtaken the BMW brand in the luxury car market in the first two months of this year.

 

The new Porsche GTS will be joining the market in 2015.
