Porsche Macan released in the UK
The Volkswagen owned firm, Porsche, have announced that they have released entry levels of the Macan model in the UK today. The Macan was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show only last week and has made the swift journey into the UK car market today.
Porsche announced a number of months ago that they planned to further the range of SUV models and the new Macan seems to be the answer. Both owners Volkswagen and Porsche itself have been big achievers in the SUV car market and seemed to have inspired other manufacturers such as Jaguar and Aston Martin to add to the luxury SUV market.
As well as Porsche and Volkswagen, the Audi brand in particular has enjoyed the success within the SUV car market with the models under the Q badge. The success of the Q models and other models in the Chinese car market has helped propel the Audi brand towards a record breaking quarter and to a table topping lead in the luxury car market.
New Porsche Macan
The new Macan SUV at Porsche will be fitted with one of the most successful engine developments on the car market today. Last years car of the year, the Volkswagen Golf received plaudits from all corners of the world for the engine that powered the model.
The 2.0 litre four cylinder direct injection engine will help the Macan model achieve 234bhp and has a claimed return of 37.6mpg. Porsche claim that the model will achieve 0-62mph in a time of just 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 139mph. 18 inch alloy wheels will be fitted as standard along with a number of other features.
In terms of the pricing of the model, the new Porsche Macan will be available at a price of £40,276 and expect to add further specifications into the UK car market towards the end of the year.
